INVESTING IN HEROES
" Education is very, very important for conservation. If you want to do good conservation, you need educated people who know WHY they should preserve the environment
and HOW they should do it."

At CEP, we know that lasting change depends on community engagement and leadership. Students at DTC have lived their lives in the Congo Basin rainforest. They know what is at stake for the forest and for future generations. And when they decide to study bonobos, or sustainable agriculture, or nursing, it is not just out of curiosity; it is a calling. It is about survival.
And protecting the Congo Basin rainforest is critical to ensuring survival for all of us.
Supporting Djolu Technical College and providing scholarships to students allows more rural Congolese youth to become environmental heroes.

Our work is about investing in heroes. It is about investing in higher education so young women and men in the Djolu region can become leaders and protectors of the Congo rainforest, so they can learn sustainable agriculture and forestry techniques and strategies to teach to local farmers, and so they can improve access to healthcare and resources for their communities.
CEP is depending on thoughtful people like you to help us raise $80,000 for our Investing in Heroes campaign, to support students and faculty at DTC who are cultivating the skills (and training others) to protect the rainforest and increase the resilience of their communities. Our wonderful partner, Planet Women, has generously offered a $40,000 matching gift, so by contributing before December 31, your gift will be doubled. |
One of the best ways to support Congo Education Partners is to become a monthly rainforest sustainer.
